SHORT-TERM WORKSHOPS & CAREER PREPARATION COURSES
Not sure where to start? TNN Beauty offers short-term workshops for beginners, future apprentices, and beauty professionals who want to build confidence and learn hands-on skills.
Students may start with a short workshop, complete the 40-hour Introduction Course, or join the 100-hour Practical Skills Bootcamp to better prepare for apprenticeship training.
Workshops may include barbering, cosmetology, haircutting, haircolor, makeup, skincare, nails, permanent makeup, State Board preparation, and beauty business skills.

TNN Beauty offers short-term workshops and career preparation courses for beginners, apprentices, and beauty professionals who want to explore the industry, build hands-on skills, or improve specific techniques.
Courses may be offered in Poway, CA, and other approved TNN training locations when available.
BARBER & COSMETOLOGY CAREER PREPARATION
Introduction to Barber/Cosmetology
40 Hours — Optional
Recommended for beginners with little or no experience who want to explore the beauty or barbering industry before applying for apprenticeship.
Students will learn how to prepare basic service setups, use proper tools, practice safety and sanitation, assist with procedures, and perform beginner-level skills on mannequins. Skills may include basic haircutting, styling, chemical service preparation, basic facials, basic nail care for cosmetology students, and shaving preparation for barber students.
Practical Skills Bootcamp for Barber/Cosmetology
100 Hours — Optional
Recommended for students who have little or no experience but are serious about applying for an apprenticeship position.
This hands-on bootcamp helps students build confidence and practice basic shop skills before entering a licensed salon or barbershop. Students may practice haircutting, hairstyling,
blow-drying, haircoloring, permanent waving, hair relaxing, facials, hair removal, makeup, nail enhancement, manicures, and pedicures.
BARBERING WORKSHOPS
Shaving & Facial Hair Design Workshop
Learn shaving preparation, sanitation, skin stretching, razor safety, beard shaping, mustache grooming, and aftercare.
Clipper Cutting & Fading Workshop
Learn clipper handling, guard system, blending steps, tapering, fade foundation, and finishing details.
Barber Client Consultation Workshop
Learn how to talk with clients, understand haircut requests, recommend services, and build client trust.
NAIL WORKSHOPS
Basic Manicure & Pedicure Workshop
Learn nail care setup, sanitation, shaping, cuticle care, massage, polish application, and client safety.
Nail Enhancement Basics Workshop
Learn the introduction to artificial nail services, nail preparation, product safety, application basics, shaping, and finishing.
Nail Art Basics Workshop
Learn simple nail art designs, polish techniques, gel polish basics, decals, glitter, and finishing.
BUSINESS & CAREER WORKSHOPS
Beauty Industry Career Readiness Workshop
Learn how to prepare for apprenticeship, build confidence, understand professional expectations, and create a career plan.
Client Building & Social Media Workshop
Learn how to promote services, take better photos, post on social media, attract clients, and build a professional image.
Salon & Barbershop Business Basics
Learn basic business skills, customer service, scheduling, retail sales, professional communication, and shop operations.
State Board Written Exam Preparation Workshop
Review key theory subjects, safety, sanitation, infection control, laws and regulations, and practice exam questions.
BOARD EXAM PREP COACHING
TNN Beauty offers State Board Exam Prep Coaching for current TNN apprentices and outside students who need additional support preparing for the California State Board written examination.
This coaching is designed to help students review important theory subjects, understand exam-style questions, improve study habits, and build confidence before taking the licensing exam.

TNN APPRENTICES
Current TNN apprentices may receive State Board exam preparation support as part of their apprenticeship program, based on program requirements, attendance, and eligibility.
OUTSIDE STUDENTS
Outside students who are not enrolled in the TNN apprenticeship program may request State Board Exam Prep Coaching for an additional fee.
Fees, coaching schedule, and availability may vary based on program type, instructor availability, and student needs.
